The Rev. Kate Lewis

Whew!

So far this summer has been a joy-filled and wonder-full time of new beginnings.  Pat and I have been busy meeting lots of new people, collecting ideas for new ministries, and all the while getting settled in our new home. It’s been a little bit chaotic, but it’s holy chaos—and we’re loving every minute of it.

This is a new season at Emmanuel, and the biggest thing we have going right now is our 2008 Summer Mission Trip – all the way across the blacktop to our parish hall and pre-school.  We are embarking on a grand plan to modernize the hall with a new ceiling and lights and fresh paint.  This is not only necessary maintenance for our buildings, it’s a gift to the community groups who meet here and to the pre-school children and teachers who deserve a nice, bright place to grow in.

Many thanks to all who are working so hard on this project, especially to our Junior Warden, Peter Miller.  Without his vision, devotion and energy, this never could have happened.  Mahalo, Peter.

Now that things are beginning to settle down just a bit, I want to spend more time getting to know each of you.  Please, call me and we’ll go out to lunch or have a chat in my office.  My door is always open.

In Christ,

Kate+
